Approach

The relationship between client and therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy. In our early sessions, we will work collaboratively to create a supportive and safe therapeutic space for you. I utilize a person-centered and non-hierarchal approach to therapy, meaning that I believe that each person is the expert in their own experience and I support clients along the way. Therapy is a relationship with an open and non-judgemental professional with whom you can safely share your whole self. Therapy is just one component in learning to be at home and alive in your body and life.

I have over 7 years of experience as a pediatric oncology social worker and palliative care clinician, where I have provided support to individuals who have a child or loved one with a serious illness - from diagnosis through grief and bereavement.

There is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy - it depends on what works best for you and what your goals are.

I tailor my therapeutic modalities based on individual needs. My practice is informed by:

  • Narrative therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Attachment theory

  • Mindfulness based interventions

  • Somatic Processing
